Whether you are new to the MOT Industry and are applying to become an Authorised Examiner (AE) for the first time, you are already approved and want to take over an existing MOT station or you want make changes to an existing authorisation, you will have to complete the MOT application form.

These checks now apply to both the people that own and run Test Stations (Sole Traders, Partners, Directors and Company Secretary’s) as well as those who have access to the MOT Testing Service via the login portal Sign in – MOT testing service (mot-testing.service.gov.uk) . This will include MOT Testers, MOT Admin Staff and Site Managers if they are not Owners or Directors etc.
The DBS checks are there to identify people with unspent criminal records and thereby prevent them from becoming influential in the MOT Industry.
