John Parham grew up in Somerset and never really left the tools behind. He started out as a mechanic, the kind who could diagnose a rattle with the radio on and the bonnet shut.

From there he spent years out on recovery, dragging the broken and the badly loved back to safety. The roadside teaches you things a classroom never will: speed, good judgement, and what happens when maintenance slips.

Working in and around real garages led John into the world of MOT testing, compliance and training. He saw the gap.

Busy workshops are brilliant at fixing cars but paperwork, risk scores and DVSA letters stack up in the in-tray.
